Is All Grades Home Tutoring a learning center?
No, our tutors come directly to you! You don't need to drive anywhere! Our dedicated and qualified tutors will design a program for your child that is based on their school's curriculum, not a pre-determined program that may not relate at all to what your child is working on in school. We will also interface with your child's teacher, if necessary, to be sure your child is on the right track.
What is your fee structure?
There are no testing or assessment fees and no contracts. There are various packages from which to choose.
Are assessment tests necessary to use one of your tutors?
We do not give assessment tests, which can cost up to $300 in a learning center. Our tutors assess and instruct your child according to his/her individual skills and needs.
How do I know if my child needs tutoring?
Any student can benefit from tutoring. In home tutoring not only helps students who need to catch up in a subject, but also students with high grades, who can work on more enriching and motivating material to advance their knowledge and maintain their interest in school.
School and self-esteem are linked. Your child may seem less motivated for school. You may notice increased negative comments about school, peers, or other issues. Physical changes such as lethargy or complaints of feeling sick or other ailments can be related. Simply noticing a decrease in excitement or anticipation about school is a good reason for tutoring.
Nowadays, a good education is more important than ever. One-on-one tutoring increases your child’s self-confidence to achieve higher in academics and this can lead to better social interactions with teachers, friends and family. Tutoring is an investment in your child’s future.
What if my child doesn't like the tutor?
Although we strive to make a perfect match based on the child's needs and qualifications, sometimes it doesn't work out and we will work diligently to find a new replacement as soon as possible.

What about learning materials for in-home tutoring sessions?
We highly recommend that your child bring home their school books or any other materials they are working on in their class that relates to the subject(s) we are tutoring. In some cases our tutors will provide materials if it complements what your child is learning. However, we do not provide a curriculum. We will help you attain materials from your child's school, if necessary, or direct you to several resources where you can purchase the appropriate books, etc.
Does tutoring always take place in my home?
Yes, we come to you at your convenience. We require that a parent or guardian over the age of 21 be at home for the entire in home tutoring session. For students over the age of 16, we offer tutoring at your local library, however, a parent or guardian must be present.
What are your tutors' qualifications?
Our tutors are pre-screened certified teachers and college graduates as well as professionals with exemplary training and experience in their subjects/fields of expertise. We check all references and personally interview every tutor.
Is there a minimum contract?
No, we do not have any long-term contracts, however, we strongly suggest considering a package of sessions in order to really see progress. The minimum amount of time for each session is one hour.
Do you work with children who have “special needs”?
Yes, many of our tutors are qualified or certified in special education for these and will be able to work in conjunction with your child’s needs or IEP.
I home school my child. Can your tutors help my child?
Yes. If your child is being home schooled we will provide a credentialed teacher or a certified tutor, depending on which type of home school program your child is receiving.
How will your tutors critique my very sensitive child?
Our tutors will let each student know, in any way they can, that they enjoy the tutoring sessions and are proud of any and all efforts. To achieve maximum possible benefits, these tutorial sessions must include repeated statements of positive reinforcement. Only in this way will your student's confidence in her own ability take flight!
Do you accept major credit cards?
Yes, we do. We can arrange for automatic monthly or bi-weekly payments. If you prefer to pay by check at some point in the future, no problem. Just call or e-mail us so we can change your preferred method of payment in our accounting system. If you pay by check and decide you want to switch to a credit card, just let us know. Whatever is going to be most convenient for you!
Do you tutor students in college?
Yes, we have tutors who are very capable of tutoring college level courses. Requests for college level tutoring have increased dramatically in the last year and we can provide an experienced, credentialed teacher or professor.
